Aphasia Worldwide Launches New Website
Aphasia Worldwide has launched aphasia-worldwide.org, a nonprofit website focused on aphasia information, accessibility, and research for language recovery.
Aphasia is a language disorder that can affect speaking, understanding, reading, and writing. It is commonly caused by stroke, brain injury, brain tumors, or neurological disease. More than 40 million people live with aphasia worldwide, yet many people still do not know what aphasia is or how deeply it can affect daily life.
The new website was created to help close that gap. It includes information about aphasia symptoms, types of aphasia, recovery, rehabilitation, patient guides, caregiver information, and resources for people who may struggle to explain their needs in medical settings.
The website was designed with aphasia accessibility in mind. Pages use plain language, short sections, strong visual structure, and simple navigation to make information easier to read and understand. For many people with aphasia, reading can be slow, tiring, or overwhelming. Aphasia Worldwide aims to make information easier to find, easier to absorb, and easier to share.
“People with aphasia deserve clear information and better recovery options,” said Keri Andrews, founder of Aphasia Worldwide. “This website is the first step. Our larger goal is to support research that can move aphasia recovery forward.”
Visitors can also subscribe to the Aphasia Worldwide newsletter for updates on aphasia information, research, recovery stories, and future programs.
